Nurse Toews grew up in Nebraska where she was actively involved in numerous extracurricular activities in high school such as 4-H, volleyball, basketball, and track which shaped her appreciation for teamwork, perseverance, and service. She earned a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Fort Hays State University and has worked in a variety of hospital and clinical settings throughout her career, including in ophthalmic and dermatologic surgeons. Her and her husband moved to Georgia where they raised their family who are all pursuing advanced education pathways. She has served as a school nurse for over a decade and enjoys  supporting the heal and well-being of students and families.
